Turning point1: A girl gets killed by a shark

Turning point2: When there are people at the beach a little boys gets killed

Turning point 3: The police officer and people kill a shark but find out its not the right one

Turning point 4: The captain, police man and shark observer are on a boat trying to kill the shark when they decide to put the shark observer into a metal box to stab the shark

Turning point 5: The shark fights with him and the observer swims to the bottom safe. The captain mistakenly slides into the sharks mouth and dies, while the police officer kills the shark!

The conventions of this movie is a thriller. A thriller is there to have some horror scenes but mostly to make us curious, awake at all times and to surprise us.

This movie did meet the conventions because the best thing that triller movie can have is a song to when the villain comes. In this movie there is the tone,” ta-dum, ta-dum…” it is very suspenseful. There was a villain and a hero and people did die and at first it was mysterious.

The movie itself was good. It was created a while back with less special effects, however the acting was good. The characters played their roles and the best scene was when all three men were talking on the boat. At times the shark seemed real and maybe twice it seemed fake, but overall pretty good and suspenceful.

I would recommend this movie for anyone who wants some action and suspense for their evening. There is some gory scenes however it is better than watching a movie filled with killing.

“The Dark Knight”

Turning point 1: We find out that the Joker is the villain and he has many men working with him to help him rob a bank and so on.

Turning point2: Bruce finds out that Rachel is with Harvey and that she will never be with Bruce.

Turning point3: The Joker tells Batman where Rachel and Harvey are and Batman wants to save Rachel thinking she is at the location given, however the Joker played and a joke so Batman saves Harvey and Rachel dies, which causes Harvey to turn evil!

Turning point4: The joker places two bombs on two different ships with innocent people on one and criminals on the other to see who will die first. Harvey captures the lieutenant’s family.

Turning point 5: Batman appears and saves the lieutenant and his family and kills Harvey. Batman then leaves!

The conventions on a hero movie were very well presented. You would expect explosions, fights, deaths, villains, hero’s, a love store, and many intense moments. For the villain, you would expect to see or be told how and why he became evil and for the hero you would find out how he became Batman and why. Sometimes the hero is not known to the public and you would always expect something to happen.

This movie kept me very intrigued because something interesting happened every 20 minutes and there was a little bit of comedy. It was very dark and the voices and the characters were great. The conventions were well met because it showed everything that you would expect. I loved it!!!!

I would recommend this movie to anyone because there is a lot of action and also a little romance. Everyone would love the Joker because of his laugh and personality. I preferred the Joker to Batman because he added some humor to it and made it his own. The voice of Batman might sometimes get you frustrated however you grow to like it. I would recommend it also because most of the time everything is dark and you do not expect things to happen and you will never be bored. Have fun !

“Office Space”

Turning point 1: Peter is at work and realizes he hates his job

Turning point 2:Peter goes to a psychologist/hypnotic and is under it and is a calmer person and decides to stay home instead of going to work.

Turning point 3:Peter asks Joanna on a date

Turning point 4: Peter gets a raise while he is home. weird!? and his two best friends are getting laid off so they decide to use one of their creations to take money out of the company

Turning point 5: They then realize too much money was taken out at once. Peter returns the money in an envelop under his boss’ desk. Before the boss can walk in his office Milton goes in to take his stapler and takes the money and burns the company down. Milton leaves on vacation, and he used the money for it!

The conventions of this movie is exactly what i expect. It is categorized as a comedy and that is exactly what it is. The entire movie there are parts that make you laugh whether they are stupid sad yet funny or others. Under the category of comedy you would expect characters who are lost, dumb and funny, sometimes a love story and a problem that the characters will solve.

I find that the film did meet the conventions very well. The movie had funny characters, a problem and a love story. Everything that every character did was funny and the music is what made it funny.

My review of this movie is that i would recommend it to anyone who is looking for comedy and a love story and a comedy about working in an office. The lines said by the characters were well done and i find the funniest character and the way he says his lines and plays them is Milton because of the way he looks and that everything bad happens to him but in the end a good thing happens to him. This movie was enjoya

“Point Break”

I was absent for most of the movie however I was there to see the only last 2 classes. What I saw was that the main character was an undercover FBI agent and he was trying to catch bad guys. He fins out after chasing one of the guys that it was his friend he surfs with. The surfer guys threaten him to help them rob a bank or else his love will die. The FBI agent helps them but as the robbery is happening, people get shot and killed and the bad guys are still lose. During the end, The FBI agent and his partner try catching the last 3 guys however one dies, one gets shot and the FBI’s partner dies. When thy reach the dessert the two guys left, the FBI agent see’s his love and the bad guy gets away with all the money. At this point I thought the movie was over however there was climax to it. The FBI agent find the bad guy who ran off at the beach when a storm was happening and hand-cuffs him, however the bad guy asks him if he can just go for one last surf before he goes away. The FBI agent lefts him go surf and that was the end of the bad guy.

I thought that the ending would have been better and the acting was not all that great. I would recommend this film to anyone who enjoys action and a little romance.

“The Program”

Today in class we started watching the movie called “The Program”. I only saw a few minutes of it and i will not be watching the rest because i will be absent next week while the class is finishing it off. What i have seen so far is that the football players all have an important life and we have been following the life of “John Kanne”. He is a football player who is very well known and is in magazines and has many interviews. A new football player is part of the team and they all get along well. So far the movie has been funny and entertaining however i find it strange how the characters of different race are acting as what they are told to be like, however it is not reality.

“Along Came Polly” review

1.Ruben’s wife cheats on him. 2. Ruben runs into Polly and dates her. 3. Lisa comes back for Ruben while he is dating 4. Polly find outs that Ruben put her and Lisas names on his laptop to see which option is safer to date. 5.Ruben realizes that staying with Lisa was the wrong desicion and runs after Poly

What are the conventions of this genre? This genre is considered as romance however i consider it as a romance comedy because there were more funny scenes than romantic scenes. The conventions to a ramance movie is that it should always contain a dramatic scene between characters. There is laways a break up and a get back together scene. Scenes with kissing and scences that want to make you cry because of what the person said to the erson they love. To a comedy there should be many parts about every 10 minutes that have something interesting that happens, and many stupid parts.

How did this film meet or contradict the conventions? i find that since my teacher considered this movie to be a romance genre of movie, it did not fully meet the conventions. The only times were when the couple went out on a date or he was saying a romantic speach so she doesn’t leave him.

Write a review of this movie: I find that the dialogue in this movie was good because the characters seemed that what they said was real. The plot of this film was good because there were scenes that we very interesting and funny and throughout the whole film, there were always important or funny scenes. For the directing, i do not find that there were bad scenes because the filming was good. The people and places that had to be filmed were filmed. I would recommend this movie to teenagers and older because there are some scenes that are not appropriate for younger people. This movie is considered are a romantic-comedy and any one who is looking for that genre shoudl watch this movie.

Logorama Review

I enjoyed watching this short film because it was interesting to see how many logos can be put into a film and how the characters play their roles. I liked the part that “Ronald McDonald” was stopped by “Weight Watchers”. To me, the meaning of this movie is that oil(pollution) takes over and everything becomes equal. It was a great film and once you watch it many times, you can see all the different logos.

Evaluate the product:(were yousuccessful, what are your results and explain if it was/wasn’t good)

I believe that my group and were successful because we handed in everything on time and we knew exactly what we were doing from start to end. The PSA was a great video because it was short and simple and every age group can understand what is going on.

Evaluate Yourself (what were your strengths and weakness’)

My strengths were that i was punctual and i understood everything that my partner was teaching me. My weakness would probably be that i could have done the editing alone if i research properly how to do it, but my group member offered to help.

Create Stage 3

Today my partner and i finally finished the create stage. Now even though every other time we worked on this we had the script with us, today the director forgot it but we only had about 30 seconds left so we did what seemed right and next lunch time we will do the touch ups. Today we also made the white screen with the word. So far our PSA is about 1:26! I am using the computer in media class with the “Pro” program and it seems pretty simple, we used fades, brighter images, moving images and many more tools. Our environment is very safe because we are in a class room at all time and a teacher is there if we need help.

Create Stage 2

During lunch hours i went to the media room which my partner and worked on the creation together. I cut out scenes, made some brighter and at the end we are going to have to make a white screen with words on it . It has been already two classes and i hope it will only take 2 more to go. Everything is going great.
